Adult Care

Regular wellness consultations are the key to ensuring the health of your pet. On average 23% of companion animals that appear healthy during a physical exam have an underlying disease.

  • Yearly medical examinations
  • Vaccine boosters
  • Preventive care, such as adult blood work panels, urinalysis and regular deworming.

Senior Care

Some underlying diseases often times do not show symptoms until they’ve become advanced. Diagnosing early is the best way to prolong good health. As your pet ages, we recommend running diagnostic tests annually to monitor organ functions. We offer a competitively priced package for our senior patients for a comprehensive and thorough evaluation.

The package includes:

Our Senior Lab Panel, which includes:

  •  A full panel of blood values– which allows us to assess cell counts, electrolyte values, liver and kidney values as well as                  thyroid function.
  • NT-Pro-BNP (pro-brain natriuretic peptide) levels, which is used as a marker for cardiac function, or rather disfunction. Brain natriuretic peptides (BNP) are released from the atrial and ventricular muscle of the heart (myocardium) and serve an important function in maintaining cardiovascular/cardio-renal homeostasis. As the heart pumps to fulfill its function, the heart must fill with blood, causing the myocardium to stretch. Following this stretching, natriuretic peptides are released in the bloodstream. An elevated Pro-BNP value can indicate an underlying cardiac disease– in which case imaging is recommended for further diagnostic accuracy.

  • SDMA, a marker for early detection of kidney disease.
  • A Urinalysis which gives us information regarding the cellular content and concentration of urine. This test allows us to access renal function and diagnose silent urinary tract infections.

Our Senior Imaging combo study, which includes:

  • Chest and abdominal radiographs.
  • An abdominal ultrasound.

The combination of radiographs and ultrasound allows us to get a full picture of internal organs and are useful to assess organomegaly (enlarged organs, such as liver or spleen), cardiomegaly (enlarged heart) or possible masses in the abdomen or chest.
